Dr. Sarah B. Steinberg
CEO, Frogstone Strategies
Former Executive Vice Provost, Johns Hopkins University

For more than 35 years, Sarah’s professional and personal interests have been at the intersection of technology and education. She is experienced in academic planning and program review, technology applications for academic and administrative implementations, strategic marketing and communications, and student services. She is a recognized leader, presenter, and author.

After spending more than a dozen years as a practicing civil engineer, Sarah joined Johns Hopkins University – the premier research university in the United States – in 1993 and held several senior level leadership positions in the School of Engineering, the School of Arts and Sciences, and the Provost’s Office.

Sarah is credited with spearheading multiple innovations and advancements at Hopkins, including selecting and implementing the first multi-school course management system, overseeing the modernization of a $30M enterprise-wide student information system, and creating a dozen fully online master’s degree programs. In 2012, she was named the Executive Vice Provost of Johns Hopkins University, with responsibility for university-wide strategic initiatives, including online and distance education.

Sarah is the CEO and Founder of Frogstone Strategies (2014). Frogstone Strategies provides advising, strategic planning, and consulting services to the broader higher education sector: including colleges/universities, associations and non-profits, and for-profit technology firms.

Recent and current clients of Frogstone Strategies in the area of strategic planning and organizational review of new and existing programs, continuing education, and online education implementations for adult and “non-traditional” student populations include:

Sarah has taken a leadership role in mentoring women in higher education and is nationally recognized for her expertise in STEM, higher education, and enterprise modernization. She currently serves as an online Lecturer in the Master of Professional Studies in Technology Management and a Subject Matter Expert and adjunct faculty member for the Masters in Higher Education at Georgetown University. A frequent presenter, panelist and moderator at professional meetings and conferences, Sarah also serves on several national advisory boards for nonprofit institutions.

Sarah received her BS and Masters in Civil Engineering at Cornell University, an MBA in Finance and Marketing at Northwestern University, and a Doctorate in Higher Education Management at the University of Pennsylvania.
